Graduated from Ethnology, following studies in Croatian Studies and Philosophy, Vid Jeraj is a music writer with Croatian Composers Society, and work as reporter in Ljubljana, Zagreb and Belgrade. Since autumn of 2007 he had been delivering lectures and performing under the moniker of A Club Essay, alone and with mutual partners, such as dancers, actresses, and/or musicians. Since May 2005, he’s been an editor of Slusna Obmana, a media project that promotes fresh, angular and alternative music. Some of his verses have found its way to be published on a CD, following the path of his prose.

1995 – 2003
My research in Arts & Humanities started by enrolling in Croatian Comparative Studies (A) and Studies of Philosophy (B); also, classes in Indology, Philosophy of History and Philosophy of Education at University of Zagreb. Translates philosophy (Plotinus, H. Putnam), explores Croatian folk traditions of Indian-European, Celtic and Oriental influences, delivers a paper in “History of folklore in Dubrovnik”. Besides, a journalist (Homo Volans, SC Godine), plays with seminal alternative and art-rock groups. Works as a teacher of Croatian Language and Literature, and Ethics, respectively, in public secondary schools and translator with Open Society Institute. As a small-scale promotor, booking agent, successfully booked gigs in the region for international acts, such as Eugene Chadbourne, Amy Denio, slam poets; thus, starts a fruitful relationship with URK, Udruženje za razvoj kulture. This is the period when specializes for jazz music and travels around the region.
